Higashikata Josuke is the main protagonist of the eight part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, JoJolion. To distinguish him from Part 4's identically named protagonist, he is frequently referred to as "Gappy", "Josuk8", or "Jo2uke" within the English-speaking JoJo fandom.
Canon
His stand is called Soft and Wet, but formerly belonged to Josefumi Kujo. He has four testicles (this is a very important fact).
In canon, Gappy is an amnesiac young man whose on a quest to find out who he is as a person. He is an easygoing person who befriends people, including his adopted family (the Higashikatas). He is compassionate and easily cares for those around him, including Holly Joestar-Kira, Yasuho Hirose, and Rai Mamezuku.
Like many characters in Jojolion, Gappy is eccentric. He has a habit of sleeping under mattresses rather than on top of them. In one chapter, he uses his Stand to place his facial hair on Joshu's and Hato's faces.
Fandom
Nicknames
Because JoJolion was on a monthly release schedule and it took until chapter 6 for Gappy to be referred to as "Josuke", the English-speaking fandom had taken to calling him "Gappy" in the five months that it took for him to get a name. The nickname itself references his tooth gap, and has never been used within the manga[1]. Other nicknames for Gappy include "Josuk8" (referencing the fact that he's part 8's Josuke) and "Jo2uke" (referencing the fact that he's the second Josuke). "Hat Josuke" is also used in the English translations of All Star Battle and Eyes of Heaven.
It is unlikely that the Japanese-speaking JoJo fandom requires fandom nicknames to distinguish the two Josukes, because their given names are spelled with different Japanese characters (仗助 for Part 4’s Josuke, and 定助 for Part 8’s Josuke).

According to the volume of fanwork on Archive of Our Own, the most popular romantic ship for Gappy is Gappy/Hirose Yasuho.
