Why we love it: Written for h50_exchange. If anyone can write a story about someone losing their sight and make it warm and hopeful it's this author. There is no miracle here but that doesn't mean there's no happy ending. The slow build and the character's wholly believable response to trauma make this an engaging and powerful read. As usual with this author the writing itself is beautiful. Absolutely not to be missed.
