From the Introduction

From one of the editors, Andra:

I originally volunteered to write an introduction to Ghostie's first zine Passions of Command, but since she had already done so herself, I settled for giving her "Tis the Season," the sequel to her Christmas story "Silent Night." When she sent word that she was doing a second zine, I again volunteered to write the introduction and so here I am.

Ghostie and I first "met" when I sent her an e-mail telling her how much I enjoyed her work, and pleading for the final part in the senes which this zine consists of. Several months of groveling and cyber harassment later, 'Courtship Rituals" was posted and the Flight of Illusion series was completed Needless to say I was thrilled with the happy ending, and equally pleased when she told me she would be releasing Flight of illusion as a fanzine. I'm sure you will all be as delighted with the end result as I am.

Star Trek and its fans have taken a lot of flack over the years, mostly from people who don't understand our passion for what is to them, "is just a television show." But any Trekker will tell you that Star Trek is more than just a television show, it is a symbol of hope for mankind, that 300-400 years from now we will have overcome the conflicts that divide us now. Whether they are moral, socal, or political, our differences make us each unique and should be embraced instead of feared. Gene Roddenberry thought it was possible, and it was his dream of the future that has earned Star Trek across three and half decades and a little place called Earth to touch the lives of millions and inspire them to believe in his dream, too.

Special thanks to Ghostie for her part in the dream and allowing me to make a cameo in her zine.
