Fjord/Avantika is a minor het ship in Critical Role Second Campaign (The Mighty Nein) that took place during the show's Pirate arc. Fjord (Travis Willingham's PC) and Avantika (NPC portrayed by Matthew Mercer) were both pursuing Ukutoa's temples at the time and had a one night stand on Avantika's ship.
Fandom
Avantika served as the antagonist during the Pirate arc of the Campaign and was generally considered to be a bad guy by the characters and the fans alike. Most of the praise for the ship and character interactions between Fjord and Avantika came from fans appreciating the sexual tension both Travis and Matt were able to convey.
Fans focus mostly on the sexual aspect of their relationship and it's rarely a focus in fanfiction (rather serving as a background or a stepping stone to a different ship). Due to the relationship The Mighty Nein had with Avantika, some fanworks explore dubious consent and toxic relationship tropes when it comes to Fjord/Avantika.

Fanfics
- Sleeping Well With Bad Decisions by starkraving - Fjord might not be okay.
- Canon Fodder by RedTeamShark - Canon-that-should-have been, Fjord doesn't leave Avantika's room when it says be does in the episode. Spoilers for C2E37.
- eat your fill, leave all the rest by starstrung - Theirs is a hungry patron, and Avantika, Fjord thinks, is all of that hunger in one mortal person — or as mortal as you can be, when a creature such as Uk’otoa has given you its blessing.
- third eye by marketchippie - “You surrender wonderfully,” she murmurs. “Perhaps that’s what it is that puts you ahead of me. I never had much gift for giving in.”
- Salt in her lips by PrincessAmericaChavez - Sex is just sex. A kiss is just a kiss. Sometimes, it’s not even a kiss. Then, why does it hurt so much?
- Give and Take by raiyuki76 - “You do what you have to,” Caleb had said. He didn’t want to think about it then, and he definitely didn’t want to think about it now.
- pick up the pieces by dinomight - She doesn’t kiss him right away like he expects her to. Instead, Avantika slides her hand under Fjord’s shirt, laying her long fingers flat against the planes of his stomach. There’s scar tissue there, a stretch of boiled skin from the explosion that set him down this path in the first place. Either she doesn’t notice or she doesn’t care, as she presses closer and whispers in his ear, “Do you want me?” “Yes.” It’s like everything else that drips off of his silver tongue—a half-truth. (Or: Fjord learns that old self-destructive habits die hard.)
