General Reactions and Comments

A series of nixed stories, with some better-that-average. In #1, I loved ' The Itchy Problem of Xandalara' by T. V. Francis, where the Klingons have irradiated a planet to make the natives allergic to humans. Vhen Kirk & Co. visit, there is a lot of scratching going on. In #2, 'Misfit' by Meg Wright tells of how Spock persuades a farmhand to defy his father's wishes and join Starfleet. #5 has a story for the lovers of the 'hurt/comfort' syndrome. In 'Premonitions, Doctor?' Spock risks his life to save his friends by dragging them to a cave, in spite of his own injuries. This is written by Christine Hall. 'Mercy Dash' by Pauline Sweetlngham in #7 has Spock taking an infected McCoy to Vulcan to save his life. In #14, I enjoyed 'Bait' by Ann Flegg, where Spock and McCoy contrive to make Kirk take Shore Leave. 'Ships in the Might' by Theresa Holmes, in #16, is a rather sad little tale, of Spock and Kirk each other after the First Officer has been transferred to another ship.
