Flyer Info

This three-part novel takes place after the events in the episode "Mirror Image." Sam's assignments ace getting tougher...

HEAR NO EVIL, SEE NO EVIL

There's been a slight problem at the Quantum Leap Project, in 1995. The neural implant meant to link Sam's and Al's brainwaves appears to be malfunctioning. Sam's implant is causing some interference with his optic and optic neurons. The link can't be removed because of its dangerous location, but Sam wants to go into the Accelerator anyway. Will history as we know it be altered?

SPEAK NO EVIL

Sam learns a hard lesson about scientific curiosity as he sees the results of his using the Accelerator prematurely. He isn't the only one negatively affected by his actions, and now he has to determine who his friends and enemies really are. Can he really trust anyone at the Project, when it's obvious someone sabotaged the Accelerator in an attempt to kill him? Sam does meet one loyal friend he knows he can trust, but will Amanda be the only one who stays by his side as he alienates everyone else he knows?

DO NO EVIL

When Sam finds himself in what appears to be a spaceship, being questioned by aliens, he thinks it's a wonderful opportunity. Until he learns their real purpose...He also meets an old nemesis, who is not exactly who he thinks...He's given a choice somewhere between a rock and a hard place, with no way out.

Just to warn you what you're getting into, this zine will have approximately an 'R' rating, and is not meant for the faint of heart. There will be lots of hurt/comfort, and some implied adult situations. There will be some violence, no explicit sex. There will be lots of suspense, some humor to lighten things up, some surprises (hopefully), and lots of nice illos by Terri. Despite the grim outlook, it will have a happy ending, I promise! Or at least a hopeful one.

Author's Notes

From the acknowledgements: "It's taken me a long time to finish this story, which started out well over a year ago as a fairly basic hurt/comfort story. It's changed quite a bit since then, as new ideas came and went. You may find you have some questions along the way. Some will be answered by the end of the book, if they're not, go back and read it again, and it will probably all fall into place. However, I don't claim (unlike a certain television network) to answer all your questions. Part of the fun of reading fan fic (or any type of story) is in figuring things out for yourself. By now, having seen the results of the Donald "Continuity? What continuity?" Bellisario school of writing, this should be a piece of cake for you! You might want to keep in mind that here, as in the QL universe in general, appearances can be deceptive, and things are not always as they seem. Also bear in mind that this is written with an adult, mature audience in mind, and is not meant for younger, more impressionable leapers, or those who are particularly squeamish. However, in this story, unlike real life, there is a reason for things to be unsettling...Read on and you'll see what I mean..."

Summary

From Media Monitor:

A post-Mirror Image novel by Shari Ramseur. Cover illustration by Kate Nuernberg. Poor Sam, just when he thinks it's safe to go back into the Accelerator... he finds out the hard way what it's like to live in an altered timeline, where something has gone wrong with his neural implant. No wonder he's spending so much time in psychotherapy... This zine has approximately an R rating. Contains violence (physical and emotional) and sexual situations (not explicit). It is not recommended for anyone who can see holograms (i.e. children under the age of 5, animals, the 'mentally absent', and television network execs.) All others are duly warned. 145 pages, over 100,000 words.
