Arcane Asylum is a Merlin/Arthur AU story by new_kate. The author's description of the fic: "This isn't really a prison story so much as it's the story of the world that has a prison for magic users in it." Readers have praised the story for its modern world-building and its characterization of Merlin. It is often recced as a good example of the Prison AU trope.
sophinisba podficced the story for The Podfic Big Bang 2012. A translation of the fic into Chinese by irisemyris began being uploaded the same year, and continued updating until early 2013.
