fanfic50 was a challenge community that hosted an open challenge for fanfiction and icons. There were 2,503 entries and 3,356 comments recorded in the community as of 2022. Original works were allowed, but the community would not accept works based in fandoms where the original creators didn't allow fanworks.

Can I claim a character, pairing or series that was created by someone who has forbidden the creation of fanfic? No, you can't. I don't want the comm to be on the receiving end of cease and desist letters from authors' attorneys, or to be threatened with deletion from (or even deleted by) LJ/6A for copyright infringement or violations of terms of service for LJ.
