Enterprise Roulette is a Kirk/Spock story by Angel C. Soie.
It was published in the print zine First Time #11.
Summary
"To ease the boredom of a boring patrol, the Enterprise crew starts a computerized Lonely Hearts Club that has everyone on board participating."
Reactions and Reviews
The Enterprise is on some routine mission and all on board are bored, so everyone participates in a dating questionnaire, including Kirk and Spock!Such a fun story as McCoy convinces Kirk to fill out his questionnaire and Uhura cajoles Spock.
Then—talk about seeing something coming! Kirk readies for his blind dateand so does Spock—in great anticipation—when their first meeting is cut short by hot chocolate being spilled in one of the ship's consoles! But anyway, finally they realize the computer set them up with each other.
They talk and share their feelings in some lovely dialogue: "I get so lonely—sometimes—late at night," Kirk murmured, almost to himself. "Sometimes, I want to be touched. Just touched— with real love. I ache for it."
Secret matchmaking is one of my favorite K/S scenarios.[1]
