Reactions and Reviews

1991

I've been rereading my favorites and this is one of then. It's a loving little story that has just enough touch of realism to make it believable. [1]

2000

The Enterprise is on some routine mission and all on board are bored, so everyone participates in a dating questionnaire, including Kirk and Spock!

Such a fun story as McCoy convinces Kirk to fill out his questionnaire and Uhura cajoles Spock.

Then—talk about seeing something coming! Kirk readies for his blind date and so does Spock—in great anticipation—when their first meeting is cut short by hot chocolate being spilled in one of the ship's consoles! But anyway, finally they realize the computer set them up with each other.

They talk and share their feelings in some lovely dialogue: "I get so lonely—sometimes—late at night," Kirk murmured, almost to himself. "Sometimes, I want to be touched. Just touched— with real love. I ache for it."

Secret matchmaking is one of my favorite K/S scenarios.[2]
