Elliot Page is a Canadian actor known for his roles in Inception, Whip It and Juno, for which he was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. C6D fans may also recognize them from the 2004 Canadian film Wilby Wonderful. X-Men/Marvel Comics fans know them as the performer that played Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde) in the X-Men Movieverse. He also plays Viktor Hargreeves in Umbrella Academy.
Before his coming out as trans man, several female roles were played by the actor, therefore there are still online links to his deadname or the use of female pronouns to characters he played in movies, television or games. Sometimes the use of feminine pronouns is directly related to the Canadian actor -- sometimes on pages unedited, outdated or written by transphobic people who refuse to accept this new chapter in Elliot's life.
Trans Identity
On December 1st 2020, Elliot came out as trans and announced they use both he/him and they/them pronouns.[1] Speculation as to what this could mean for their character in The Umbrella Academy have since occurred in response, with many hoping Vanya could also come out as trans. Netflix quickly updated his name on opening and closing credits of his films and shows.[2]
In the subsequent moments of his coming out, several pages, sites and fans organized to remove his deadname by updating their pages to Elliot Page, actor, thus showing that the union is strength, loving Elliot and supporting him.
Fandom

Elliot Page's fandom popularity is extensive and predates his coming out as trans. However, he had a small shake/break after his transition, as some fans were made up of anti-LGBT people. Which led to a wave of queer fans flooding the web with pro trans content.
