Elia Martell is a fictional character in the series A Song of Ice and Fire. She does not have her own perspective, but appears through reflections and memories of other people.

Canon

Elia Martell was a Princess of Dorne who was married to Rhaegar Targaryen. She was known to have poor health. Elia bore two children: Rhaenys Targaryen and Aegon Targaryen. Elia and her children were killed by Gregor Clegane during the sack of King's Landing in Robert's Rebellion. As a result, the Martell family bears a significant grudge towards the royal family, resulting in several actions such as Oberyn Martell fighting with Gregor Clegane.

Fandom

The Dead Ladies Club

Very little is known about Elia Martell, even though she was heavily involved in pre-series events and her death triggered several events. She is often included as part of The Dead Ladies Club as a result of this information gap.
