ED is the standard term for the ending song/credits of an anime series. Longer series may have multiple EDs, often performed by well-known bands or pop artists.
Compared to OPs, EDs are more likely to have less flashy karaoke in fansubs. They are also less likely to include complex animation. When ordered chapters came into use, EDs were also removed from the main files, despite their dramatically smaller file size compared to most OPs.[1]
Some fans and anime clubs may skip EDs in long showings to save time.
