Dropout is a streaming service that hosts comedy shows. It was launched in 2018 as a paid component of the YouTube channel CollegeHumor. In 2023, the company CollegeHumor changed their name to Dropout. [1]
Notable Shows
Dropout has many series, and hosts content from the Youtube Channel formerly known as CollegeHumor.
Dimension 20
Dimension 20 is a TTRPG actual-play series. It is Dropout's biggest show and has the biggest fandom.
Game Changer
Um, Actually
Um, Actually is a game show where guests answer trivia questions about popular media such as comics, movies, and video games. The show was first hosted by Mike Trapp, who was later joined by factchecker Michael Saltzman. In season 9, they were replaced by new host Ify Nwadiwe and factchecker Brian David Gilbert.
Very Important People
Very Important People is an improvisational show hosted by Vic Michaelis. All the characters in this show are fictional, including the host (despite having the same name as the actor).
Play It By Ear
Play It By Ear is a musical improvisation show. While in the Dropout universe it is a spinoff from the Game Changer episode The Official Cast Recording, it is also similar to Off Book: The Improvised Musical Podcast by Zach Reino and Jess McKenna, who appear in every episode and are executive producers.
Fandom
While some shows have their own fandom, many shows' fandoms only exist in the context of the greater Dropout fandom, particularly when they don't have a big fictional element.
Dropout used to run an official Discord sever, but shut it down in 2024. A lot of general fandom chatter lives on Reddit on the Dropout subreddit. There is also a circlejerk subreddit which has some circlejerk content, as well as serious unjerked complaints and criticism of Dropout.
Wank includes complaints about other fans being too parasocial, many fans being new to the comedy scene, and that there are too many injokes.

Fanworks
Many fanworks are about a specific show, but because many of the cast are on multiple shows, fanworks often combine elements from multiple shows.
The fandom on AO3 is pretty small except for Dimension 20 fics. Other fan activity includes fanart on Tumblr/Instagram, compilation clips on YouTube, theories on Tumblr and probably elsewhere.
