Dio Brando (ディオ・ブランドー Dio Burandō), known as DIO from Part 3 onwards, is the main antagonist of several parts of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Originally an orphan taken in by George Joestar, Dio aimed to usurp Jonathan's place as heir to the Joestar family fortune. He later became a vampire and tried to take over the world... and that's just the first part.
Canon
In canon, Dio Brando is a highly charismatic and intelligent man who uses seduction and ruthlessness to convince people to work with him.
He shows interest in other cultures, with the OVA depicting him reading the Quran (appropriate since he resides in Egypt, a country that's predominantly Muslim). He is also philosophical, seen discussing the world's philosophies with Enrico Pucci.
Fanon
DIO is the source or focus of many of the best known memes of the JJBA fandom, including "It was me, DIO"[1] and "Oh? You're Approaching Me?"[2] , "ZA WARUDO"[3], and more.
DIO is often shipped with other characters, including Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Vanilla Ice, Enrico Pucci, Mariah and Midler.
