Reactions and Reviews

1986

"Delusions of Grandeur," by Natasha Solten, is also another very different story. Spock is being physically attacked by some unknown entity or force, and you'll be surprised to discover just what it is. This was a real twist of a story. I loved it. [1]

DELUSIONS OF GRANDUER by Natasha Solten is one of those stories that hurts so good you have to read it agan. We find Spock having difficulty with reality, slipping in and out of very unpleasant 'waking dreams'. Alternated with these run-ins with delusion and illusion are scenes of a very different person trapped in a reality drastically different from that of the first officer of the ENTERPRISE. What is real and what is illusion is the question addressed here, a question which is never quite answered, or is it?[2]

1992

This small gem of a story leaves us wondering about objective reality. It is written in a style that is both poetic and effective in increasing the reader's disorientation. It has the feel of a very vivid hallucination. We

will never know the truth. [3]

1999

This story leaves me totally confused. Is it about a madman who thinks he’s Spock or is it about Spock’s consciousness being exchanged with an alien one? [4]
