David Xanatos is a popular major character on Gargoyles and the main antagonist for much of the series.

Canon Overview

Voiced by Jonathan Frakes, Xanatos was inspired by Frakes's character William Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation series. Xanatos is one of the primary villains, in addition to being the founder, owner and CEO of Xanatos Enterprises and a member of the Illuminati. Obsessed with immortality, Xanatos' behavior is often ruthless and amoral, posteriorly due to the affection for his family (wife and son) his personality is slightly softened. Xanatos is also a formidable fighter in addition to advanced karate and judo skills.

Xanatos has a specialized red armored suit, several fighting robots including an anthropomorphic AI device modeled after himself, designed to do his bidding. His loyal right-hand man is Owen Burnett, a stoic man with extraordinary hidden talents whom Xanatos gained the service after after taking it under his wing, Burnett being a former employee of his business rival Halcyon Renard, as his assistant.
