Canon

Xanatos is one of the major antagonists of the Gargoyles series and Owen is his assistant, there for every single one of Xanatos's plans.

Near the end of season 2, it's revealed that Owen is really Puck, and at some point before the series, Puck revealed himself to Xanatos and gave him a choice: one wish from Puck, or a lifetime of service from Owen ("The Gathering"). Xanatos chose Owen.
