David Xanatos/Janine "Fox" Xanatos is a canonical m/f pairing in Gargoyles fandom. Like the rest of the Gargoyles fandom, their popularity is experiencing a minor resurgence with the availability of the show on Disney+, giving older fans a way to watch the whole series again and introducing newer fans to the show for the first time.
Canon
Fox and Xanatos are dating at the beginning of the series and have been for a while. They get engaged and married near the beginning of season 2, and have their first child together (Alexander Xanatos) by the end of the second season.
Fandom
#Relationship Goals
Even though they're both antagonists, Fox and Xanatos have a remarkably balanced and healthy relationship. Fox is one of the few people in the world who can keep up with Xanatos both physically and mentally--they spar together and play chess together, and Xanatos, who notoriously dislikes losing, has no problem losing to Fox. Although they rarely work together the way that Owen and Xanatos do, they still make a great team when they do, as when Oberon comes after their son immediately after he's born ("The Gathering").
It's a relationship that fans enjoy, to the point that even if they ship Xanatos with someone else, many fans will look for ways to maintain his relationship with Fox in the process. (Sometimes with a threesome, sometimes by making their relationship an open one; it depends on the fan and their preferences.)
To Have Kids or Not To Have Kids
Canonically, Fox and Xanatos have one child, Alex, which obviously brings up the question among fans: will they have more?
Some fans and fics say yes and give Fox and Xanatos multiple children in the future. Understandably so, since it's clear in canon that they're both loving and devoted parents. Others keep Alex as their only child, since any future children would likely also attract Oberon's attention and it's possible that he would try to take one (or more) of them to make up for losing Alex.
