The Dark Trinity is a Forever Knight faction based on the relationship betwen the characters Nick Knight, LaCroix, and Janette DuCharme. This could be interpreted either as either familial or romantic.
The term can also be used adjectivally, i.e. a "Dark Trinity" story is fanfic focused on the relationship betwen these three characters.

In 2012, Greer Watson created an icon for the Dark Trinity as part of her project to create a set of icons for all the Forever Knight factions. The design includes screencaps of the three characters as well as a symbol created for the faction. This composits a sword (for Nick), a cross (for LaCroix), and a raven (for Janette) on a biohazard symbol (for the vampire danger they represent).
