SPIN, commonly known by its pre-reboot name, Crossover Chaos, is a crossover fanfiction by Elwynn James and Jessica McKinney.
Its story revolves around an evolving cast of characters, starting with the casts of the shows Fanboy and Chum Chum and Sidekick.
Its most recent incarnation, under the name of SPIN, is claimed to be a fan-sequel to HEAD, the 1968 satirical film and stars the Monkees.
Both incarnations have no consistent plot throughout their runs, but have the same consistent antagonist, Valo, a satirical caricature of Funny Music Project musician, The Great Luke Ski with powers to control fiction, including fanfiction, down to the metafictional level.
Valo is revealed to be Big Victor's son in SPIN, and is a satirical personification of copyright law and fandom discourse.
As well, the satirical use of characters from other fanfiction is present, notably Trippz Grissom from Jessica McKinney's own fanfiction, Unity Hearts, as well as J.D. Knudson from Loud House Revamped, used with permission from the original writer at some point during the latter character's use in SPIN.
Early installments have been archived on Deviantart, with later stories in this universe spread across Boardhost, Proboards and JCInk. Out of all these, only the early Proboards installments (from 2022) are backed up to Archive of Our Own, with a fanmade alternate continuity also on the site. Future backups of the rest of the series are planned for the future.
It's also noted some of the original characters from this fanfiction are public domain.
