CounterMeasures was a The Lone Gunmen fanfiction archive.

CounterMeasures came to be in late April of 2001, during the short first (and only) season of the television show, The Lone Gunmen. Its name comes from the X-Files season 4 episode "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man". The purpose of the site is to archive fan fiction featuring the original characters John Byers, Melvin Frohike, Richard Langly, Jimmy Bond, and Yves Adele Harlow. Fan fiction archived here need not be set in the universe presented only in The Lone Gunmen; original fan fiction set in The X-Files universe is also archived, as long as the characters mentioned above are featured somewhere in the story. All characters are copyright of Ten Thirteen Productions and Twentieth Century Fox. No infringement is intended. All works archived at this site are done so by permission only.

The archive is hosted by Yahoo! Geocities and maintained by Maidenjedi. Photos used in the graphics on this site were originally captured by Megan of ROAD Runners, and the main graphics contain captures from the LGM episodes "All About Yves" (Byers), "Planet of the Frohikes" (Frohike and Yves), "Like Water for Octane" (Langly), and "Tango de los Pistoleros" (Jimmy). The main font used at this site is Verdana. Graphics were created using Dadaware Embellish and Adobe Photoshop 5.0. Colors used at this site are black, white, blue, and red.

Maidenjedi is a fan of The X-Files and The Lone Gunmen. She started hosting her own X-Files site in February 2000 and began writing fanfiction around the same time. The website fell into disrepair and now only hosts her fanfiction (X-Files, Lone Gunmen, Buffy, and Harry Potter). Her favorite Lone Gunmen is Byers, and her favorite Gunmen episode a tie between "Like Water for Octane" and "Planet of the Frohikes". She has a great many interests outside of the Gunmen and The X-Files; if you're interested, you can check out her Livejournal.
