Cosmic Communications is a Battlestar Galactica fiction and non-fiction anthology. It lasted at least five issues, and the editor noted in #5 that #6 (if it appeared) would be his last.

Issue 1

Cosmic Communications 1 contains 74 pages. It was published in 1981 or earlier.

  • The Conquest of the Colonies (Returning to their home planets, the Colonials find that they may not be able to resettle their old planets at all. Adama feels that all is lost, until Cain comes up with a plan that seems to be their only hope. They will either be victorious or die at the hands of their enemies.)
  • The Revenge of Baltar (Baltar serves as a hanger crew aboard the Galactica while Apollo and Starbuck are marooned on a hostile planet, and Lucifer plans to attack)
  • Circle (After being forced into a 'void,' the Galactica and Pegasus face a major battle.)

Issue 2

Cosmic Communications 2 was published in 1981 or earlier and contains about 60 pages. It has art, stories, humor, and photos.

  • Starbuck's Greatest Adventure (a story that picks up where "Return of Starbuck" left off)
  • other unknown content

Issue 3

Cosmic Communications 3 was published in 1982 or earlier and contains 42 pages. Fans who ordered this zine also got a copy of The Galactica Adventures #1.

  • The Saga of the Sci-Fi Show (a parody of the show's pilot)
  • Earth, At Last (the Colonials race against time to bring the people of Earth technology to meet the oncoming Cylon baseships)
  • art, humor, photos, personal profile of the editor
  • a debut story by Kerry Windsor
  • up-dated information on the reorganized write-in campaign to save the show

Issue 4

Cosmic Communications 4 was advertised in Warped Space #23.

Among other contents, the following stories appeared in this issue:

  • Apollo's Story Part 1 by Troy Thorne (condluded in #5)
  • Deathtrap on the Planet Ovion Part 1 by Doug Maisells & Sam Jones (ditto)

Issue 5

Cosmic Communications 5 was published in March 1983. It had 82 pages + front and back covers (insides were blank).

Contents of the issue included:

  • Introduction to Issue #5 by the editor
  • Another Man's Shadow by John McDrake
  • The Guests by Sam Jones
  • This One's For You by Laverne A. Gaskill
  • Apollo's Story Part 2 by Troy Thorne
  • Deathtrap on the Planet Ovion Part 2 by Doug Maisells & Sam Jones
  • A Look at Battlestar Galactica Fandom by Eugene Meyer

Editorial material and fanzine ads made up the balance of the issue.

Artwork was provided by Troy Thorpe (including the front cover), Dia Spenger and Kevin Terry (including the back cover).
