A Stray Story

The story "The Conquest of the Colonies" ("Returning to their home planets, the Colonials find that they may not be able to resettle their old planets at all. Adama feels that all is lost, until Cain comes up with a plan that seems to be their only hope. They will either be victorious or die at the hands of their enemies.") may be in one of the issues.

Issue 1

Cosmic Communications 1 was published in 1981 and contains 74 pages.

From the editorial:

Hello! My name is Doug Maisells. I am the producer of this new BG fanzine. Why have I decided to make a fanzine? I have mainly two reasons. First, and probably the most important of all, it is for the reader.

I do this for your enjoyment and continued support of the great series, Battlestar Galactica. Second, in appreciation of BG, I write stories about the gallant battlestar and its adventures. I feel my stories are quite good. I have sent them to about five different zines and clubs and all of them rejected my stories for one reason or another. One was that my stories were too long, averaging 30 typed pages. Another reason was that at times, my stories were hard to understand. I've written a few parts over trying to make it as easy as possible while keeping my general themes. Probably, the main reason for rejection is that my stories are different. If you saw my advertisement for C.C. in other zines, you probably saw it said, ’'C.C. is a different zine with different stories". How are my stories different? Well, first of all, I hardly ever write in the first person. Many people have encouraged me to write as if I were a member of the Galactica. That's fine, but ...
