Con-Hon (or Conhon) is a term used in German based manga, anime, and Visual Kei fandom and literally means "convention book" (Con=Convention, hon=japanese word for book). These are usually blank notebooks that are used for gifting or leaving each other little drawings, fanart, messages, little stories and sometimes contact information at conventions. They are often customized to reflect the owner’s fandoms or fanish interest.[1][2] In some circles it has become an important way communication and for building your own fannish identity.[3]
It is not exactly clear when the term Con-Hon was first used, but the practice started around the time that the animexx.de platform became more popular as a means to organize fan meet-ups.[4]
In 2012 the convention DoKomi set up an Online Con-Hon on their offical website. [5]
