Summary: In exchange for their lives and the serum that will cure their crewmates, Chakotay and Tom Paris have sex in front of several alien women. But that event brings to light some very complex and tumultuous feelings between them...

There's a lot of really good C/P out there (even if, as Sarah said, all they have to go on is latent hostility), but this one is *my* all time favorite. Some Paris-angst, but she handles it deftly, and the writing is primo. Besides it's a variant of the fuck-or-die scenario and that's a fave of mine.

This wonderful story was my introduction to the world of Treksmut, and I wouldn't change it for any of the incredible stories I've read since.

Emma creates a wonderful set-up, having Voyager in the grip of a Delta Quadrant virus which doesn't affect the Delta Quadrant natives, or some of the crew on the ship, so Tom and Chakotay go to a nearby planet to negotiate for serum. The situation with the boy king is not exactly cordial, but then the men are brought to the Queen Mother. They can have as much serum as they need...if they perform sexually for the aliens. As there isn't much choice, they do need the serum, of course they do. Chakotay has never been with a man before, but Tom, as happens so often in fanfic, has been with men in prison. Chakotay finds himself enjoying the experience more than he thought he would, but due to an unfortunate outside incident, when they get back to the shuttlecraft, Chakotay is sick, and Tom gets the wrong impression, thinking that it's because of the sex.

After they get the serum back to the ship, and the crew is cured, there are more misunderstandings and wrong impressions. Tom starts sneaking into Chakotay's cabin at night, making love to him, only to be gone by morning.

A staff meeting about the possibility of revising the fraternisation policy brings matters to a head, Chakotay again says something that Tom takes completely the wrong way, and Tom decides that Chakotay doesn't really want him.

The inevitable reconciliation scene is very well done, and the end of the story is both satisfying and open-ended.

A wonderful story, a little romance, and good hot sex scenes. What more could you ask for? This story remains my favourite slash story in Trek.
