Fan Comments
This is not SF & not strictly filk; it is a collection of Rudyard Kipling's songs and poems set to music by, and sung by, the redoubtable Leslie Fish.
I must confess a fondness for Kipling - not all of his stories I hasten to add, but many of them are marvellous tales. One day, I hope to read the 'Just So" stories and "Puck of Pook's Hill" to my son, and re-discover my own joys. The cassette album pays due homage and Leslie does a sterling job; nothing is lost, and it is a real pleasure to hear Kipling's words set to music and sung by someone who cares. But equally, it is only for those who like Kipling and/or folk songs, and the Kipling may put many people off buying the album. A shame, for I consider Kipling to be one of the great writers. [1]
