Cloak & Dagger is a Freeform television series based on the Marvel comic by the same name.

In New Orleans, teenagers Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from different backgrounds and have acquired superpowers after a life-changing event that revolved around the collapse of the Roxxon Gulf Platform. As their relationship unfolds, they soon realize that their powers work better when they are together, "but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging."[1]

Clash with Shadowhunters Fandom

After it was announced that Shadowhunters would not be renewed for another season a fan campaign began with the hopes that Freeform would reverse their decision or that the show would be picked up by another network. As part of their campaign fans often replied to any tweets made by Freeform promoting other shows, including Cloak & Dagger.[2][3] This came to a head when the Cloak & Dagger twitter posted a clip from the show addressing police brutality and racism against young black men,[4] which was initially flooded with the #Saveshadowhunters hashtag. The campaign was quickly met with backlash by Cloak & Dagger fans who noted the double standard of fans asking for Shadowhunters return due to the importance of diversity, while simultaneously ignoring the diversity and topics present in Cloak & Dagger.[5] Some Shadowhunters fans went on to try and address this problem with their campaign[6] as well as asking others to delete any tweets replying to Cloak & Dagger.
