Works

  • Babel - Smallville:"....let me recommend a really gorgeous Clex piece: Ciaan's Babel. It's set in season 2, very pre-Rift, and it's all about Clark and Lex communicating when the ordinary channels for communication are completely blocked. I love the way it shows that even when Clark and Lex literally can't understand each other, they still understand each other."[1] Extended commentary of the story was written in 2008 by danceswithgary and can be read here: Part 1[2] and Part 2[3]
  • These Tracks Stretch Out Before - Supernatural: "This is a very clever crossover, one that manages to keep Sam, Dean, and John perfectly in character while transporting them to the world of Sky High. Along for the ride is the Sky High crew, who are all a little more fleshed out than they were in canon (especially Warren's mom, who is awesome) and whose interactions with Sam are fascinating. Mix in some original (and very intriguing) superpower politics, daddy issues left right and center, and loads of very entertaining "Save the Citizen" competitions and you have a fun, albeit a bit angsty (John Winchester and Baron Battle: world's worst dads), fic."[4]
  • Planetfall - Supernatural/J2:"My first reaction this story was "more, more, more" and I almost wrote that in my comment, but the author specifically requested people not ask for more because she has writer's block. But seriously, I could read 100,000 more words of this AU, where Jared is a space pirate who captures Jensen, scion of a noble house, as he is embarked on a scientific mission. They end up crash landing on a planet and have to survive together. My favorite part of this story is the cultural differences between Jared and Jensen. Jensen has lived his whole life on space stations and finds nature messy and repulsive. He is also dangerously naive about the politics of his empire. Jared is a pirate as a means of protesting the tyranny of the empire. The story ends a little too soon for me--it's not completely unresolved, but their relationship is left in limbo. Still, I really enjoyed this."[5]
