Some Excerpts
Maraschino, a wonderful author and a co-writer, had been nudging me to write something, but I kept denying the possibility of it ever happening. Then, one night, I drove out to the Rattlesnake Lake in the North Cascade mountains to watch the meteor shower, Perseids. The sight was astonishing, and as I searched my mind for a wish, the only wishes I could think of were those that came from Mulder and Scully - what would they think of while watching this beauty? Would they wish for themselves or for each other? And suddenly, I realized that my first story was ready - the only thing I needed was to write it down. It's called Perseids, and despite the fact that it was only my first effort, and I probably would never write something like this again, I still have tender feelings towards it.
Once again, [my favorite character is] a toss-up between Mulder and the Smoking Man - in my mind, they're not that different from each other, after all. Both highly intelligent, dedicated, albeit to different goals, atheists, both surrounded by the delicious aura of the fallen angel. Of course, what I love about Mulder most is probably the sense of wonder, the hunger for the new and the unknown, which he managed to retain throughout the journey that would have broken a lesser man. And as far as Cancerman… <deep sigh>… he is evil and charming. I can't resist.
[Mulder and Scully are] partners made in heaven, the matching keys to the puzzle that will be either the Consortium's undoing or, one hopes, their greatest achievement. When I look beyond their work, which does happen from time to time, I see two people whose lives are intricately connected, who were meant for each other… in a purely platonic way.
The majority of my pieces are of the dark and twisted variety, with an occasional parody or badfic thrown in as a counter-measure. My favorite theme is Mulder and/or Scully working in Consortium, or at least with Consortium, and I have to literally restrain myself from writing more on the subject.
