Bx:Execute is a fangame for OFF created by M-256 as a sequel to her first fangame, Continue/Stop/Rise. It is the second in a series of fangames within the OFF fanverse CSRverse.
Plot
This article or section needs expansion. |
The game serves as a character study of its main protagonist, Ghost Batter, through which lore from the previous game is fleshed out, and a presentation of a sub-species of Elsen called Harbingers. This sub-species and four of the game's characters were made through roleplay M-256 engaged in on Tumblr.
Reaction
Due to mixed reactions to the game that came before it, the game reached a smaller audience, thus making it obscure in the wider OFF fanbase. In the CSRverse fanbase, though, the game and the characters it introduced have become the primary focus, somewhat overshadowing its predecessor and the game that followed. M-256 ran a joint askblog and roleplay blog for the positive Harbingers similar to her blog for the three Batters of the first game that fans initially engaged with, but was later made private like the other blog.
The primary ship in the game's fanbase, as well as the fanbase for CSRverse at large, is the canon ship Ghost Batter/Huaso. The canon status of the ship isn't explicitly obvious in the game itself, to where a few fans have thought they're simply good friends, but M-256 has stated they're dating during the events of the game multiple times and drawn art of them together.[citation needed] There's also a substantial amount of shipping of Flo/Huaso and Flo/Ghost Batter/Huaso that's received support from M-256, though Flo/Ghost Batter receives little independent attention.
A crack ship that arose in 2020 was Borbo (aka Lenny)/Lepi. The two characters never interact in the game, and the one indication of them interacting appeared on M-256's blog, where Lepi briefly described hating Borbo. A few people considered the potential chemistry of the two, based on their respective personalities and similar apathy towards others, and saw promise in them having an enemies to lovers dynamic. This ended up breaking out into the fandom at large. One writer, frozenCinders, wrote nearly all of the works in the ship's AO3 tag, amounting to over 20 works.

Fanfiction
- By Any Other Name by frozenCinders - Lepi insists on calling Lenny by his full name, and Lenny calls Lepi not by his name, but by his grade. These things are understood.
- Morning Coffee by NESwrites - I read a tweet asking for lepilen saccharine domestic fluff, and. Ended up between 1 and 0 steps away from writing cannibalism. And 0 steps from writing graphic details of the state of decay.
