Brian Dorband is an early Harry Potter fan who was an active member of HPforGrownups from mid-2000. He joined the fanfiction list ParadigmOfUncertainty shortly thereafter.
In January 2001, Brian was quoted in the Salon.com article "Harry Potter hanky-panky" about the "wand order" error in Goblet of Fire and its subsequent correction. He reported on HPfGU that he had sent a Letter to the Editor following a previous story about the error and was then contacted by a reporter interested in doing a follow-up piece.[1]
