Biljo White is credited with creating the term "batmania"[1], after the name of his highly-regarded fanzine, Batmania in the 1960s. He published a number of other zines and provided art and reviews for others and was a prominent personality in early comics fandom in the U.S. during the 1950s-1970s. He passed away in 2003.
