Ookiku Furikabutte (Oofuri), released in English as Big Windup!, is a seinen manga series by Asa Higuchi. So far, it has been adapted into two anime series (Ookiku Furikabutte and Ookiku Furikabutte - Natsu no Taikai-hen).

Oofuri is a baseball series, following the main protagonist Ren Mihashi on his way to find a place in a new team as well as self-confidence. Shunned in middle school for being the grandson of the school's owner, Mihashi's self-esteem is so low that now he is certain to have no talent as a pitcher whatsoever. However, when he is forced to join his new high school's baseball team by the energetic coach Momoe, Ren gets to know the team's number one catcher, Takaya Abe, who quickly realizes that Ren is quite skilled.

Fandom

The fandom usually exists in tandem with other sports anime, as many fans don't discover the series until becoming part of the greater sports anime fandom. Despite how long the manga has been going on, the fandom exists primarily on tumblr and Archive of Our Own.

Pairings

The two primary pairings of the series are Mihashi/Abe (the "battery") and Hanai/Tajima.
