Baiting the Trap by DVS was recommended on All_Fandom_Recs. I've read it, enjoyed and can't believe I've not recc'd it here. It's a look at the guys from Cowley's, rather twisted, perspective.[1]
1995
This was a very short piece, mostly about Cowley's view of the lads. No sex, really not much of B&D, and it didn't do much for me. [2]
2010
A brief story narrated by Cowley that affords us a snapshot of the Controller managing an operation he would never have chosen to do if he could avoid it: using his best agents' relationship as a lure to expose inter-departmental corruption and leaks. DVS writes one of the best Cowleys, to my way of thinking. She captures his wiliness and hardness, but also his more caring side. I enjoy the views of Bodie and Doyle served up, too.[3]
