Some Excerpts

Hi, I'm LithiumDoll and I'm a vidder. And I feel like I should be saying I'm two months clean, only that's a lie. I'm vidding right now. I vid even when I'm not vidding. Which is either zen or makes me crazy people. Let's pretend it's zen.

I started out vidding in the Farscape fandom a few years ago and it's sort of like the Mafia, so I'm probably still there. But after about 20, 30 videos (no, no I'm not kidding), I went to explore new and interesting colour palettes.

I'm a serial flitter in fandoms, meaning I've vidded in quite a few but usually not more than one or two vids at most before I move on in a Littlest Hobo kind of way. Without the fighting crime. Or fleas.

Supernatural, though, has so far wrung six videos out of me (below) and at least two more are in the pipes. Also, several fics which is even more unusual.

So it's fair to say it ate my soul.

And it has - I think - made me a more rounded vidder. I'm one of those heretics who's more about what they can do above what they should do. I use effects just because I can. But Supernatural made me want to try my hand at the more au naturelle style - bring out more of what's there already and just buff it up a little.

Which actually means I use about the same amount of effects as before, it's just they're much harder to spot. It's like growing as a person.

As a rule, I don't actually tend to talk much about my vidding process or vids themselves, mostly because I can't imagine anyone actually wanting me to. I mean, man. It's ugly. There's violence. Strong language. The bad guy wins at least half the time and the popcorn is stale.
