Reactions and Reviews

Three PWP scenes, each set after one of the TV episodes and exploring how what happened in the episode affected the unfolding relationship between the two men. Atmospheric, beautifully quiet. I liked it, especially the second scene (set after The Web).[1]

Bizarrely only part 1 of this story is on Hermit, but under the same name as the overall fic. This is confusing for those of us wondering whether we should buy the zine (I did), although actually all three parts work well on their own, even as they also work well as a depiction of an evolving relationship. I like this fic a lot, in total and in parts - although I'm afraid I do feel the need to flag up the fact that Blake is explicitly heterosexual in this fic. Yes, I do understand that this could be a problem between people, but I would prefer this sort of external issue (i.e. not related to them as people) not to be a problem in my shippy fic. Ship fic is not real life, nor I think (although you could argue differently) should it be. Also, it's hardly a problem here. It's not relevant at all - Blake gets over it almost immediately. The problem, as set up in the fic, is about misunderstandings and awkwardness. Which I like. I don't understand why we have to take time out to talk about how Blake doesn't want to get involved in buggery (even and especially because he gets over it immediately).[2]
