Arthur C. Clarke was an influential British Science Fiction writer who is often considered as one of the Big Three of the Golden Age of English-speaking Science Fiction, alongside Isaac Asimov and Robert A. Heinlein.
Amongst many other works, he is the author of the short story The Sentinel on which the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) is based.
