Reactions and Reviews
This story is enchantment, magic, romance, love - - It is BEAUTIFUL. Spock is mature in it. He accepts himself & his love for Kirk. He is the shadow lover we all have wished we had. The love scene takes place in a cove of peacefulness, where time has stopped & they have only the present, where they are isolated from the rest of the world. This quality of time stopped prolongs their love. Each touch, each word stands alone -- Not as foreplay for something better. Kirk & Spock have time to be passively open with one another; they have time to absorb each other's sensuality. The whole feel of this story is of a quiet, romantic, accepting love. This story is the epitome of beauty. To get the most from it, read it slowly; read it when you have time to capture every nuance from every word. [1]
