Anti Deus Ex Machina is a Kirk/Spock story by T'Marii.

It was published in the print zine Dark Fire #1.

Summary

"AR: The artificial kironite isnʼt working, so Kirk stalls for time by playing along with what Parmen wants."

Reactions and Reviews

“Plato’s Stepchildren” is a perfect springboard for any unpleasantries you care to imagine, and it’s used here to show us the lengths to which Kirk will go to protect Spock from torture and humiliation. The Platonians are written as suitably nasty people with no morals whatsoever. Kirk making love to Spock under their influence is somewhat predictable, but it is good to see just how determined he is to take care of his Vulcan. I would have liked to see how this enforced encounter affected them after they returned to the ship, but that would have probably been something very light and filled with joy—not something for a zine devoted to the darker side.
