Anna Genoese was a member of the Organization for Transformative Works Board of Directors. She was appointed to the Board in December 2013 and served as OTW Secretary for the 2014 term until her resignation on October 5, 2014.
Genoese was also a member of the Strategic Planning committee from January 2012 though 2013, and was the chair of the committee from August 2012 to December 2013. She was also a tag wrangling volunteer from 2012 until July 2014.
Biography
Her biography from the OTW website states:
Anna Genoese is a lifelong fan and professional editor/author who currently works full time for an international nonprofit focused on youth development. While working as a professional editor, Anna published the original fiction of several fanfic writers. Using a pseudonym, Anna has written fanfic and performed podfic in a number of fandoms, which can be found at the AO3. Anna worked with the Strategic Planning Committee of the OTW January 2012 - December 2013, and was the chair of the committee August 2012 - December 2013. Anna is also a volunteer tag wrangler.[1]
Resignation
On October 5, following the Board's 2014 retreat, Genoese suddenly resigned from the Board effective immediately. She later posted comments on Dreamwidth and Twitter indicating that her reason for quitting early was difficulty working with the rest of the Board:
...many of the other board directors and I just don't have the same values around work, professionalism, and the way organizations should be run. That makes trying to get things done very frustrating for me, and interactions become fraught with tension even about the most innocent of subjects. The professionalism issue isn't just about getting work done or meeting deadlines or putting in the necessary time to make sure issues are handled properly -- it's also about having to deal with outright rudeness and disrespect.[2]
