Animal Passions is a Kirk/Spock story by Emily Adams.

Summary

Reactions and Reviews
I especially liked the early stages of this: the detail about Kirk's "itch"; the study of an alien species (just like real Star Trek!). This story has such a nice feeling about it, and excellent characterizations. Once Kirk was injured, it became a fairly ordinary first-timer. The reason Spock 'had' to meld with Kirk seemed rather unsupported by the circumstances: it's not like Kirk was at Death's door. I liked the detail on page 12 that Kirk didn't want to interrupt Spock from something important because "that would only give Spock an excuse to leave right away". Kirk knows his Vulcan! [1]
