Always is a het Beauty and the Beast (TV) full-sized fanzine.
Issue 1
Always 1 was published in February 1991 and contains 200 pages.
It is a single story, an alternate version of the events of the 3rd season in which Catherine does not die. Aside from the cover, it has no art.
From the zine:, a letter from the author/editor:
Dear Fellow Fans,
Like you, I have been a fan of Beauty and the Beast since I first saw the show. I endured the television writer's strike which shortened the second season. Like so many others, I was unhappy with the new direction of the third season. I felt cheated but powerless, until I attended my first convention in March of 1990.
At that first convention, I had the good fortune to meet Roy Dotrice. He was so encouraging, he told us about the original episodes being sold to cable and the possibility of a movie. He made a comment at the show in Boston that if a movie or a series of movies ever came to pass, a way had to be found to bring Catherine back. It was this comment that got me started.
Always started out as a two page draft, and then a ten page short story. It grew to a full two hour screenplay with a lot of help and encouragement and has been submitted to Ron Koslow. I was urged to translate the screen play into a story format. I have done the best I can. I apologize in advance for all the errors there will be. I have no staff like a lot of the other writers. I wrote the story, typed it into several computer discs and am the editor as well. If you like it, I do not have to share the credit. however, if you don't enjoy it, I am unable to blame anyone else but myself.
The story picks up immediately at the end of the second season. It is an alternate reality to the third season. I hope you enjoy it. Your comments and criticism are welcome.
Waiting impatiently for Beauty and the Beast to return, I hope we can meet at a convention but until then, be well.
Reactions and Reviews: Issue 1
At 200 unnumbered, packed pages, this novel is clearly a labor of great love. But grammar and overall mechanics are poor. If you have a fond spot for sincere, passionate, struggling beginnings, you may well like this alternate 3rd season story.[1]
Issue 2
Always 2 was published in September 1992 (planned for December 1991).
Stories were listed as: V & C attend Nancy's Halloween Party. Devin meets Brigit O'Donnell. A great sorrow occurs, causing problems for V & C's wedding and their future.
