Reactions and Reviews

A delightful story. I had trouble believing Kirk would give anyone 'the finger' while on duty, but the situation did set up the best line in the whole story. When Spock thought "I wish" in response to Kirk's flippant "Fuck you." I liked the author's cleverness in making the reader think that it was Spock pursuing the relationship, then later revealing that Kirk had been manipulating things all along. [1]

A story doesn‘t need to be long to be good. Here‘s an excellent example by an author that never disappoints. She does a masterful job of showing how Spock is struggling with his feelings for his unsuspecting Captain. It seems that nearly every move Kirk makes manages to excite and provoke Spock. Sometimes he escapes, sometimes he just has to sweat out the nearness, the tantalizing poses in the gym, the looks that would melt dilithium. I‘m really beginning to think Kirk is never going to 'get it', when the tables are suddenly turned in a very clever and entertaining way. And, boy does Kirk ever 'get it'. Makes me wish there had been 100 more pages in which to savor their love. [2]
