Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980) was a British Thriller/Mystery director who has long been regarded as one of the greatest movie directors of all time.[note 1]
He also successfully crossed over to television with his hit anthology series Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
Countless directors have been inspired by him or outright copied him to varying results. His style is so iconic that it spawned the word Hitchcockian.
