Aerosmith is an American rock band formed in the 1970s and the best-selling American hard rock band of all time.[1]
The band's core lineup comprises Steven Tyler (lead vocals), Joe Perry (lead guitar), Brad Whitford (rhythm guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass), and Joey Kramer (drums).
Their fan community is nicknamed "The Blue Army". Their official fan club is Aero Force One.
Aerosmith's music is commonly used in vids and other fanworks, particularly the songs "Dream On", "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing", and "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)".

The RPF fandom's primary ship is Steven Tyler/Joe Perry. Self-inserts are also common: for example, the 2000 anthology Starf*cker includes "fantasy encounters" with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.[2]
As of 2007, there were around 40 Aerosmith stories cumulatively on Quizilla, FicWad, and RockFic.[3] Six Steven Tyler/Joe Perry stories were written for xmas_rocks from 2007 to 2009.
There were nine Aerosmith stories on Archive of Our Own as of 2019, and 35 stories as of 2024.
