Recs and Reviews
- "Jake O'Neil (clone of Jack O'Neill) thought he was doing a pretty good job of playing the role of a teenager, until a baffling conversation with his pre-calculus teacher showed him the error of his ways. A few weeks of Official Military Surveillance and one interrupted swordfight later, said teacher is permanently locked away in the bowels of Cheyanne Mountain. The question is, who *is* this guy, and how exactly does he keep coming up with 5,000 year old facts? First, it must be said, the writing in this story is clunky, especially in the first half. If you can get past that, however, you're in for one of the best Methos characterizations I've ever read. Jake is good, as are the rest of the SG-1 characters (what little screentime they have), but the main draw of this story is Methos. Clever, irritating, ruthless, brilliant, and a master tactician, this is a man who can walk into SGC as a prisoner and a month later be running the place. Long story short: Methos is awesome. A satisfying fic with a phenomenal ending, this is a must-read for Methos fans."[1]
