A Softer Eddsworld, shortened ASEW, was an Eddsworld fancomic. The comic updated on a daily schedule, though sometimes with multiple strips on one day for milestones.
History
A Softer Eddsworld was preceded by a post made by RapJazSka on January 17, 2017. The post contains ten ASEW strips in a photoset, mostly pertaining to Eddsworld Legacy's final episode The End. While it was made in January, ASEW as an ongoing fancomic began in April, with the original photoset being reblogged to the blog a day before the fancomic started. The AO3 iteration of ASEW also has the strips in the photoset as the first ten chapters of the work before being followed by the comic run's strip installments. Despite the daily installments, ASEW's blog title (a reference to A Softer World's website title) and About page stated that the fancomic updated every Friday. This continued for some time before the blog officially stated it was updating daily around May 8.
On June 3, the comic reached 100 strips, with the 100th[1] being a remix of A Softer World's 1000th strip. A conversation between ASofterEdd and American-Oddysey reveals that both the 100th strip[2] and the final strip[3] were planned ahead of time.

Actually, no. The comic will be going after that one, I presume. The one I’m talking about is 334.
Starting June 5, the comic changed to a more sporadic and less frequent schedule, reverting to a daily schedule on June 30. Between July 14 and 20th, the comic held a Guest strip week, with illustrated strips done artists thealbinocutie and drawnchaos, one of ASofterEdd's friends. On June 20, ASofterEdd announced that the comic would be ending in a week. When questioned, he elaborated that he would not be passing the blog onto another person[4] but he would consider reblogging other's A Softer World remixes, albeit to his non-comic sideblog.[5] The comic concluded with 138 strips.
Content
In A Softer World remix fashion, the comic combined screenshots of Eddsworld with the strips of A Softer World, though the creator also wrote three strips of his own and personally illustrated some strips as well. The comic typically focuses on the contemplative and supernatural strips of A Softer World, and avoiding ones with darker tone. Aside from occasionally illustrating strips, sometimes ASofterEdd edits the screenshots.[6] The comic also stays fairly close to the visual style of A Softer World, typically using only one picture for the strips and zooming and cropping different parts of it to create visual dialogue.
