A NUMBER OF REASONS by Charlotte Frost Is another nice little piece, an interlude more than an actual story, though it has its point to make, and does so easily and without apparent strain on the part of the writer. Exploring Spock's minor insecurities about the newfound relationship, this story brings out the hesitation and the fear of rejection we've all felt at one time or another. [1]

I enjoyed this so much. .. .very warm and loving. I liked seeing Kirk able to recognize Spock's need for physical touch beyond only sexual, and then caring enough to take the time to do so. The little flashback to their first encounter was very believable in Spock's case - his attempting to do what he'd seen or read aoout without really knowing. And I loved what Spock came up with for the only two reasons why he thought Kirk would love him! [2]

1990

I've always liked Ms. Frost's stories and this one is no exception. The story comes together really well. There was really nothing that bothered me at all about this story.

I especially liked the part about Kirk giving Spock a new reason for loving him everyday. Personally I find that very romantic. And I'd like to find someone to do that for me. [3]
