Recs and Reviews

A New Dimension by The Rose is one fic I'd been looking for since first reading it in '06. (Didn't know how to do Favorites then.) This is a dimension-traveling fic, not something I care for, but with the added attraction of little parodies of fics by some of the early TPM slashers such as Destina Fortunato, this one is very good, even has an overstory that begs for a happy ending. It's funny and a little sad, too. But mostly funny. Some recs by the author at the end.[1]

From a fic search:

In April '06 I had a computer for a few months only and was 'net wandering. I thought I could remember all the places I stopped to visit. Ha! on me. There was a fic, [...] and the fic I remember takes place in a room of Slashers, all deciding which Qui-Gons and Obi-Wans they want in their fics: Hairy!Qui, Bashful!Obi, Clueless!Qui, Slutty!Obi, etc., with the characters themselves eventually joining in. It was terrifically entertaining and not bookmarking was a boo-boo. This may be the forum to find it and of course, share it. It pushes that fourth wall way out into a fifth wall. [...] [Response:] A New Dimension by The Rose, a prolific author with great imagination. This fic has the device of dimension-shifting (not a fave of mine) but manages to come up with parodies of several MA authors that are funny. The parodies of Qui/Obi come out (ha!) in the various styles of the originals.[2]
