Author's Comments
I'm just proud of it because I actually wrote something with an episode-style plot for once. The story's about Kirk wanting to be spanked, but it's not a spanking-focused story. It's more about Spock trying to think of logical ways he can please his partner, while he and Kirk attempt to make their current mission successful. Even if someone's squicked by bdsm I feel like this story is mild enough not to bother them, because of the high focus on the "episodish" plot. Plot like that is hard for me and so I was glad to be able to write it once. [1]
Reactions and Reviews
2004
The author makes good use of her botany degree in this interesting story in which Kirk is sent on a mission to convince the natives of a planet to let them take bark samples from their forest to analyze. Admiral Kirk demonstrates his ability for creative thinking to solve a negotiating problem that stumped a prior starship crew. However, it's a bit of an unusual established relationship story, where Kirk likes being spanked, and wants Spock to figure out a way to do it in public as his Valentine's Day gift. How well you like this story will probably depend on how you view the relationship between Kirk and Spock as depicted in "A Little Spice". It's a loving, committed, long term relationship, but there is the spanking aspect of it, which may not appeal to everyone. [2]

This is such a sweet little story. The moment I had finished reading my mind started writing a review/ feedback and well, here it is. I do love Farfalla‘s stories and drabbles very much and I especially like that our guys are often so happy in them. And she accomplishes this without losing the depth or the meaning and that‘s simply fantastic and I admire her talent. She did write some heart-wrenching stuff as well but this one is pure enjoyment. "A Little Spice" is a gift-giving story wrapped in a mission and whereas Kirk‘s gift for Spock is somewhat adequate even if it still needs some imagination, Spock‘s gift for Kirk is a pretty tricky one. And although he keeps continuously thinking about it, a solution seems simply impossible. Most of all a solution that both Kirk‘s need and Spock‘s dignity justifies. And it‘s adorable how he thinks about it. I squeed at the end and do so again each time I remember. Such a lovely end – and it both hit my heart and made me smile. It fits very well that her homepage is called Kirk/Spock happyplace – and it brings the reader big portions of happiness too. [3]
