Reactions and Reviews
'I‘ve been thinking,‖ McCoy says, entering Kirk‘s cabin. 'Maybe I shouldn‘t go on leave with you and Spock.' Through the ensuing conversation, we learn that the command team has been bonded for several years now, and while they enjoy intimacy as much as ever, they also welcome the company of their friend. If you think Spock and Kirk can get into a lot of trouble on leave, wait until you read this account of what happens to the three of them! An earthquake unleashes boulders the size of houses as they huddle under a shallow overhang and wait for the horror to pass. When it does, both McCoy and Kirk are too injured to travel. Communicators and equipment are buried under tons of rock. The only one able to walk, Spock goes for help, promising to be back in 36 hours. These are agonizing hours, during which there is another quake and Kirk can see that the trail Spock would have taken has disappeared. If you enjoy a bit of angst... let‘s be honest... a lot of angst, you will like this tale of misery and diminishing hope.
Thank you, Toni, for loving them and sharing that love with us all [1]
